Amiri Moghaddam made the remarks in a conference dubbed “Iran-Pakistan relations in the new era” which was held in Islamabad on Wednesday.
Noting that emerging powers have come into existence, the ambassador said that in this situation, Iran and Pakistan, as two friendly and brotherly countries, are defining new roles in the future.
Having a 300-million population together, Iran and Pakistan enjoy high potentials for bilateral cooperation, Amiri Moghaddam said.
The ambassador also referred to the dangers of terrorism for the whole world, and said that Iran and Pakistan are resolved to cooperate in dealing with this vicious phenomenon.
He also hailed new agreements between senior officials from both sides, and said that Tehran and Islamabad have reached good agreements for increasing border terminals, opening border markets, enhancement of transit and promotion of tourism, especially religious tourism.
